Robotics Engineer

Zurich, Switzerland | office/hybrid | full-time

mimic is an early stage deep tech robotics & AI start-up based in Zurich and supported by leading VCs. We give industry workers a helping hand for tedious manual labour tasks and mitigate labour shortages with a versatile automation platform. Our automation solutions, driven by dexterous robotic hands and cutting edge AI trained on human observations, bring a new level of AI embodiment to the real world.

As a Robotics Engineer you will develop infrastructure for simulation, teleoperation, learning and deployment in the context of dexterous robotic manipulation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test ROS2, Python/C++ software that makes our robots come to life

  • Test and debug AI-based controllers for robots

  • Deploy robotic solutions on-site at our customers

  • Maintain, debug and repair our robotic systems on site

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent

  • Experience in developing and deploying robotic automation solutions in an industrial environment

  • Robotics and ROS experience

  • Proficiency in Python

  • Some experience in developing C++ projects

  • Some experience with Linux-based systems

  • Fluent English speaker

 

Nice to have

  • Experience with ROS2

  • Experience in Computer Vision

  • Experience in utilizing learning-based controllers in robotics

  • Some knowledge of Pytorch, Docker and MLOps tools

  • German language skills
