mimic is an early stage deep tech robotics & AI start-up based in Zurich and supported by leading VCs. We give industry workers a helping hand for tedious manual labour tasks and mitigate labour shortages with a versatile automation platform. Our automation solutions, driven by dexterous robotic hands and cutting edge AI trained on human observations, bring a new level of AI embodiment to the real world.

We are looking for part-time interns and working students to join our team as Robot Operators. As a Robot Operator, you will be the first to test-drive our humanoid robotic hand solution and lead our data collection efforts. You will work closely with the robotics and AI team pushing our hardware to the limit, and gain unique exposure to a fast-paced startup in the quickly evolving generative AI & humanoid robotics space. Working hours are flexible and can easily fit into the schedule of a university student. The contract is fixed-length for a period of 3 to 6 months, with the option for repeated extension.
Responsibilities

Set up and oversee hardware equipment

Tele-operate a humanoid robotic arm and hand to solve a variety of tasks

Collect data in a pro-active and organized manner

Oversee the entire data flywheel, from data collection to AI model deployment and evaluation

Coordinate with the team to achieve maximum robot utilization
Requirements

You hold a Swiss work permit, or are enrolled as a student in a Swiss University with at least 6 months left until graduation

Capable of troubleshooting technical problems with computers and hardware

High motivation and problem-solving ability

Capable of communicating clearly and collaborating in a team

Fluent English speaker
Nice to have

Experience with robotics, ROS, ROS2, python, linux systems
